What can I do? More contingency planning for the newer normal. 

Whatever you choose to call it we are still in unprecedented times and we need to make sure we have back up plans and ideas to get us through the next 12 months. A time to discuss risk assessments, think about more contingency planning and setting objectives.

Research data management (RDM) relates to the handling, storage, curation, preservation and provision of continuing access to analogue and digital research data. Research data collected during a project may include qualitative interview records, survey results, quantitative experimental data, and more! Regardless of the data you are collecting, RDM is a way of codifying these research good practices in a way that can make it easier for you to conduct your research.

Reading with a purpose and an ability to network and learn something along the way? This sounds a positive use of your time, and you get to speak to other PhDs and share thoughts and opinions. We are running three sessions this Autumn, based around writing more productively, surviving your viva, and two discussions on how we can think about decolonising our research and research practice.

Looking after your wellbeing

This masterclass is aimed at Post Graduate Research (PGR) students to provide a snapshot of strategies and tips that you can use to look after your wellbeing.

We understand that as a PGR student you may be faced with challenges throughout your course both academically and personally; juggling study with work or family commitments, stress surrounding future career choices or pressures of a financial nature for example.

The session will provide you with advice on how to manage some of these and other challenges that may arise during your Post Graduate course. You will come away with a range of practical tools and resources that you can use to remain motivated, productive and that can help you to manage competing demands.
