Fabric of research

Research Culture…Public Engagement…Wellbeing…Creativity…Critical Thinking…Subject Knowledge…Networking…Collaboration

Can one session cover all of these areas and more? We think so. The Fabric of Research is a new initiative for 2019-20 to bring researchers together to explore their research ideas from existing and new perspectives ultimately producing their research in 3D.

Whether you choose to knit, crochet, collage or construct we will provide a monthly group where you can plan, design and produce your research in 3D. Can’t knit or crochet – don’t worry we have an expert on hand to help you through design ideas and possibilities, and also help when faced with a technical problem.

There is no need to attend each session but we would love to see you as often as you can make it.

The sessions are designed to be social and relaxed, an opportunity to take time to reflect on your research or let your mind wander as you knit.

You will need to provide your own materials, but we will bring some basics to get people started.

Possibly we can have a new competition for next year’s Research Harambee?

Dust off your knitting needles and come and join us.
