EPSRC Doctoral Scholarships
For 2025/26 entry we expect to allocate at least 30 EPSRC Doctoral Scholarships to the most outstanding PhD applicants in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine, funded by the EPSRC Doctoral Training Landscape Award.
Eligibility
- Apply for a PhD working on one of the available projects in in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine to start in the 2025/26 academic year.
- Satisfy UKRI's eligibility criteria.
- have any fee status (up to 30% of these scholarships may be awarded to candidates with overseas fee status).
Award Details
Awards made for entry in 2025/26 will include the following:
- The full payment of academic fees
- A maintenance stipend for 3.5 or 4 years (full-time) at the prevailing UKRI rate. Pro-rata for part-time PGRs.
- A Researcher Training Support Grant of up to £5,000
- The opportunity to study either full-time (100%) or part-time (60%)
- Up to 40 days annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time PGRs)
- The flexibility to suspend studies temporarily if needed, including with paid short term, medical and parental leave options
- Access to additional financial support for disabled PGRs
- The opportunity to apply for additional financial support towards the cost of immigration to the UK.
- Personal and professional development opportunities designed to enhance your postgraduate research experience and outcomes.
