Chinese-Speaking Students' Names Research Project

This project explores the experience of Chinese languages-speaking students who have made a decision to use or not use an "English" or Western name. It is part of the Say my Name project, within the Community Values Education Programme at Warwick.

There are two ways you can take part in our research:

  • Questionnaire: You'll be invited to complete a short online survey about your experience of deciding to use or not use an "English" or Western name. The survey takes no longer than ten minutes to complete.
  • Interview/focus group: We will be inviting participants to attend a focus group with a member of our research term, which can be via Teams or in-person. The focus group will take up to an hour, and focus on your experience of deciding to use or not use an "English" or Western name. Participants are reimbursed for their time by a £10 gift voucher.

The research will inform the creation of new resources to improve our understanding and the experience of Chinese-languages speaking students at the University.

If you would like to take part in the research, please complete this form and a member of our research team will contact you.

If you have any questions, please contact Sam Parr.
