Laura Brogan - Marketing Assistant

Laura Brogan
“It’s great to know you’re making a difference within such a well-known and established University that’s recognised world-wide.”

A little about me

I graduated in 2012 with a degree in English Literature. I made the decision to start a career in Marketing whilst I was travelling in Australia two years ago where I worked at a recently opened specialist sports clinic. I helped with the planning and design of all their marketing content, which was a great opportunity for me to learn more about how vital marketing is to any business. At the start of 2018 I came back to England and decided to start a CIM Marketing course alongside working in the Executive Office here at the University. I qualified in August and joined the Marketing Services team here in October 2018.

You might be surprised to know…

I am distantly related to Chris Moyles.

A bit about my role

My role as a University Marketing Assistant involves supporting the Marketing Services Team and wider marketing projects across the University. So far I’ve been involved in a wide variety of different projects, meaning every day is different. I’ve assisted with the planning and development of the 19/20 Undergraduate Campaign from Prospectus design as well as creating material for upcoming prospective student events. I work on the development of Degree Apprenticeship programmes available to students and support the management of student bloggers on the recently launched Our Warwick platform. I’m also developing a webpage to share any email marketing our prospective students are receiving with the Warwick staff.

The best thing about working in MarComms at Warwick is…

When I get involved in a new project within my team I always think about how I felt as a prospective student and how I felt about going off to University to study and gain so many incredible life experiences. Knowing we’re contributing to such a big stage in a person life is inspiring and stimulating. It’s great to know you’re making a difference within such a well-known and established University that’s recognised world-wide.

I applied for my role in MarComms at Warwick because…

I applied internally, so I already had a positive feeling about working here and the great community feeling you find here. I was excited by the role as it was so varied and covered such a wide range of aspects within Marketing. I also knew what a lovely team Marketing Services were so I was excited to join a fantastic group of colleagues.

Working at Warwick feels like…

a passionate and motivating place to work. There’s so much opportunity to develop and progress within your own team/area of expertise or to move within the University and get involved in different roles and areas of the organisation. Having got to know other staff members it’s clear to see the University is a really welcoming and friendly place to work, and there’s so many long serving colleagues here it’s not hard to see what a great place workplace the University is.
