Excellence in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award

The Warwick Institutional Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team and the Gender Task Force are delighted to announce that a new award is being launched to acknowledge commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to share best practice.

Warwick is committed to developing an environment which promotes equality of opportunity, values diversity, and where students and staff can work and study free from discrimination and harassment. This new award recognises an individual or team who have contributed to the enhancement of ED&I at Warwick by delivering a specific project, initiative, and/or by actively demonstrating a commitment to building more inclusive work/study environments and experiences through their everyday behaviours. The initiatives may also include where there has been collaboration with local community groups or other HEIs.

This award is open to: All staff (individuals and teams).

Criteria demonstrated by, preferably, a short video (between 3- 5 minutes, no longer than five minutes) OR a description (up to 500 words, plus images/illustrations) of a particular initiative and/or behaviour(s) that has contributed to creating safe, inclusive, and tolerant environments helping to foster a more positive experience for all staff and students.

To comply with data protection legislation, to ensure permission is granted for any images or recordings, please ensure you read all of the information on Photography, Film and Audio Consent here and complete a consent form which can be obtained from the page, which enables us to use your video on the website as an example of best practice.

Dates: The competition is being launched the week beginning 19 April 2021 and will close on 30 September 2021. Judging will take place by a panel which will be chaired by the Provost, and the winner will be informed in the autumn term.

The winner(s) will receive a trophy, designed by Ant Brewerton (Head of Academic Services, Library) which has been made in-house in the School of Engineering. Ant submitted his design for the trophy and amongst stiff competition, was chosen as the best design.

To apply: Please send entries using the form below by the end of 30 September 2021.

This form is closed and is no longer accepting any submissions. Thank you for your time.
