WEBVTT

00:00:03.000 --> 00:00:06.000
I can keep drinking this all day I think.

00:00:06.000 --> 00:00:09.000
It's really great to be able to get hold of something more ethical in the workplace.

00:00:09.000 --> 00:00:11.000
Great way to cure a Thursday hangover.

00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:12.000
It's lovely to have a cafe right on your doorstep.

00:00:12.000 --> 00:00:15.000
This is really lovely. I really enjoy it.

00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:18.000
It's a very nice coffee to taste as well as being ethical. So yeah.

00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:20.000
Yeah, it is a really good coffee.

00:00:20.000 --> 00:00:26.000
So I'm Ben. I'm head of food and beverage product at the University of Warwick. A year ago, we launched Bridge Coffee on campus.

00:00:26.000 --> 00:00:30.000
We moved away from a high street brand. So we're here today to talk about how that's gone.

00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:40.000
So with University of Warwick being one of the top UK universities and in the top 100 in the world, it's really important for us to get the food and beverage offer right.

00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:51.000
We've got 28,000 students here, about 7,000 staff. We run 10 cafes on campus, so it's really key that we get our coffee offer right for all those people.

00:00:51.000 --> 00:00:59.000
We wanted something that had a better story to it in terms of coffee, and an improvement in quality and consistency, and we wanted sustainability to be a big part of that.

00:00:59.000 --> 00:01:08.000
So we worked with the sustainability team on campus and chose a coffee that's organic, fair trade, and Rainforest Alliance certified.

00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:12.000
It came out as one of the top coffees that we tried through that whole process.

00:01:12.000 --> 00:01:22.000
Everyone feels a little bit prouder of what we're doing now, serving a really good coffee that is better from a sustainability point of view.
