Revisions to Regulation 42

On 10 June 2020, the Senate approved amendments to the following University Regulation, with changes taking immediate effect.

  • Regulation 42 (Governing Academic Appeals)

Rationale: Minor revisions to allow for one overarching Appeals Committee to be constituted, rather than separate Faculty specific Appeals Committees for the consideration of undergraduate academic appeals.

Revisions to the Standing Orders of the Council

Revisions to the Standing Orders of the Council were last approved at the meeting of the Council held on 20 May 2020, with changes taking immediate effect.

Rationale: To bring them up to date to ensure emergency Council meetings can be called as appropriate.

Revisions to Regulation 27

On 20 May 2020, the Council approved amendments to the following University Regulation, with changes taking effect immediately.

  • Regulation 27 (2.1 and 2.4) (On-Campus Residential Accommodation Regulations)

Rationale: Revisions to this regulation for students enrolled on Degree Apprenticeships and also to update role responsibility changes.

Revisions to Regulation 23

On 20 May 2020, the Council approved amendments to the following University Regulation, with changes taking effect immediately.

  • Regulation 23 (2.7) (Student Disciplinary Offences)

Rationale: Revisions to this regulation for students enrolled on Degree Apprenticeships.

Revisions to Regulation 8.10(6)

On 15 April 2020, the Chair of Senate approved an amendment to Regulation 8.10(6) by Chair's action, with changes taking effect immediately.

  • Regulation 8.10 (Regulations for the Degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

Rationale: Revisions to this regulation enabling the graduation of the current cohort where early assistantship was brought in to provide support for the NHS in the light of COVID-19.
