Driving Minibuses

Regular Drivers of Minibuses

1. Before driving a minibus all regular drivers of minibuses must complete the ROSPA Minibus Driver Training (Level 2). This can be arranged direct by Departments with ROSPA. Where additional training is identified as necessary this should also be provided. Records of all training should be held in Departments.

2. Seatbelts must be worn where fitted

3. Minibus drivers must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience.

4. Minibus drivers must ensure that they are licensed to drive their vehicles for the activities intended. Advice is given on the DVLA website.

5. The booklet Essential Minibus Driving obtainable from ROSPA (tel. 0121 200 2461) is recommended reading for all minibus drivers.

Occasional Drivers of Minibuses

  1. Ad Hoc drivers of Minibuses should be provided with a practical training session before use with a regular minibus driver – this can be arranged through the Transport Manager.
