Promotions Explained event

Professor Chris Ennew, the Provost will be holding Q&A Sessions on Thursday 1 October 2020 from 2.00 – 4.00 pm and Friday 9th October 2.00-4.00pm (via Teams), supported by Karen Terry Weymouth, HR Strategy Director.

The Provost will discuss the promotions framework and its operation in more detail. The event is open to all staff and specifically aimed at those academic staff who are either considering applying for promotion or supporting a colleague in applying for promotion.

Please follow the below link to register a space for one of the Promotions Q&A sessions and a calendar invite will be sent to you to attend the session in due course. Register

Given the disruptions to the preparation of promotions applications caused by exceptional working arrangements, we are looking to provide applicants with access to a network of “promotions advisers”. These will be individuals who have some experience of the processes but they will not directly involved in the process. Departments will routinely provide advice and support to their staff and the role of the network is the provision of additional advice about how best to present a case given the difficulties and disruptions caused by prolonged periods of home working. All the promotions advisers are volunteers and will be willing to review and comment on submissions and/or discuss in person (probably via MS Teams) as appropriate.

If you would like to request a promotions adviser, please could you email AcademicProcesses, Resource academicprocesses at warwick dot ac dot uk and just give us a very brief indication of why this would be of particular benefit (eg – disrupted by caring arrangements while working from home; experimental work disrupted by closure of lab facilities; etc). There is no deadline for requests but we’d encourage you to contact us as soon as possible so that we can match you to an adviser.
