Warwick Secures 7m Pounds

The award to Warwick is the highest made to any Midlands University in this round of the Government's Higher Education Innovation Fund.
Just over £3 million of the funding will be for project within the University of Warwick itself, the reminder will be administered by the University in its role as leader of a number of relevant regional or national partnerships supporting enterprise, technological innovation and the development and support of high technology businesses, and general technology transfer.
Among the projects the funding will support, either at or led by the University of Warwick, are: Research TV - an international showcase for university research which has already reached an audience of 250 million viewers for its stories about UK research successes; CONNECT a programme to help Midlands companies attract investment; and support for researchers wishing to engage in enterprise activities, and SPINNER a programme to encourage the formation of spin out companies by Midlands' researchers to commercially exploit their research).
The size of the funding placed in the University?s charge by government reflects the University of Warwick's reputation as a national leader in innovation, technology transfer and enterprise education.
