Microsoft Office Excel Champion 2020
Warwick Undergraduate Hira Ramful has been named Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) the UK and Ireland Champion 2020 in Microsoft Office Excel. The ITS Training team are thrilled with Hira’s success.
Hira, studying in the department of Statistics completed a MOS certification exam in Microsoft Office Excel. Hira achieved one of the highest scores out of over 30,000 student entrants in the UK and Ireland this year.
As one of the top 30 finalists, Hira was invited to take part in a virtual championship on the 25th of June. The finalists undertook a MOS certification exam from the comfort of their own home to demonstrate their excellent Microsoft Office skills. Hira was one of only three finalists to be crowned the MOS UK and Ireland Champion 2020, winning in the Microsoft Office Excel exam category. Hira has won a trip to Disneyland, Florida to compete in the MOS World Championships in 2021. Over 2.3 million MOS certificate exams take place annually around the World, the largest IT certification program.
MOS exams are available free to staff and students who are current members of the University, in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint from IT Training.

Online payment maintenance, Thu 9 Jul 2020, 10:30-11am
On Thursday 9th July 2020, we need to do essential maintenance to the online payment system. This work requires us to take online payments offline from 10:30 to 11am. We will be unable to accept online payments during this time. Admins will be unable to view transactions or give refunds during maintenance. We have split the University email address book so that staff and student names are listed separately. This is especially important if you regularly communicate with a mixture of staff and students. It will make our email communication more secure.
In future, we will all need to consult two address books rather than one.
VPN upgrade, Wed 17th June 2020, between 07:00 and 08:00
On Wednesday 17th June 2020, between 07:00 and 08:00, we are upgrading the VPN service. This is a standard upgrade to the Cisco AnyConnect Client* which includes security enhancements. If you connect to the VPN before or during the upgrade, your connection will continue to run on the old client. After the upgrade, you may find that the first time you connect it takes slightly longer to join as the AnyConnect Client upgrades on your system.
During the change window, if you attempt to connect to the VPN and it fails, or you are disconnected, please try connecting again. If after a few attempts you are still unable to connect, or you experience any other problems, please feel free to contact the helpdesk: https://warwick.ac.uk/helpdesk.
