Web sign-on, WebGroups & Web external users - maintenance

We will be undertaking maintenance work to migrate some application databases over to a new modern and resilient database cluster

This will allow us to patch application databases in future without outages

Impact: On Tuesday 12th December between 2pm to 3pm the applications, listed below, will be affected as follows:

* Web sign-on: Users will be unable to sign in or change their account information in web sign-on for the duration of the change. Users who are already signed in to particular applications will remain signed in, but may not be able to sign in to applications they're not currently signed in to.

* WebGroups: Read-only for the duration of the change. It won't be possible to create or edit membership of groups

* Web external users: Unavailable for the duration of the change

Network Switches - Maintenance (Stage 1)

During the Christmas break we will be upgrading a number of Edge switches across campus and offsite locations.

This will bring the appliances up to latest recommended stable release (as requested by our technical support partner ) and fix some outstanding bugs

Impact: There will be an approx. 15 minutes network outage whilst switches are re-booted at 03:00. All wired and wireless services (including IP Mitel Phones) connected to switches will be temporarily unavailable.

A schedule of switch upgrade dates and building locations affected is listed below:

Monday 18th December WBS – Phase 3B South – Ground & 1st Floors

Tuesday 19th December WBS – Phase 3B North

Wednesday 20th December WBS – Phase 3B North & WBS – Phase 3B South – 2nd Floor

Thursday 21st December WBS – Phase 3B South – 3rd & 4th Floors

Friday 22nd December Westwood - IT Services
