While we carry out some essential work between 2-4pm on Tuesday 19 December, there will be limited access to web applications, including webmail, for up to 2 hours.

Use Firefox? Quantum upgrade offers twice the speed but doesn't support older extensions

The Firefox web browser has been upgraded and released as Firefox Quantum. If you're a member of staff using Firefox on a managed machine you'll automatically be upgraded. If you use Firefox on a personal device, you'll need to update if you want to use the latest version.

The new Quantum release offers twice the speed of the previous version of Firefox, but you may find some applications that use older extensions no longer work. Most of the top 100 extensions are supported, but if you do experience any issues, you could try Edge (Windows 10), Chrome or Internet Explorer as an alternative browser.

Find out more on Mozilla's Firefox support pages.

Getting started with lecture capture: staff guidance

Did you know that we can record your lectures in more than 100 rooms on campus? Want to share your lectures but don't know where to start? Simply complete a consent form and register your interest online, and one of the team will be in touch to give you a brief induction. Once you're registered, you then simply book your slot online and your recorded lecture will be made available to your students within 24 hours (or you can choose to edit them and publish at a later date if you prefer).
