Edit page layout

The layout editor is very flexible and allows you to design your layout not only in columns but also in rows. You can decide how many columns each row has.

In most cases, up to 3 columns is the best choice. Plan for your portfolio to be looked at on a small screen.

The page layout editor

This opens to show a selection of pre-set page layouts ranging from the simplest single area page (1 column by 1 row), to complex layouts containing multiple rows - each of which can contain a different number of columns.

  1. Click one of the radio buttons to select the layout that you want to apply to your page.
  2. If you wish to have more complicated page layout, selecting both number of rows and columns (again from a set of templates), follow the same process.
  3. Finally, if none of the templates match what you require, you can create a custom layout.
  4. Click the Save button to save your layout choice. You can change it at any time.

Custom layout

Custom page layout editor

  1. Choose the number of columns for your first row (1 to 5).
  2. You can add any number of new rows and set the number of columns as in 4.
  3. Remove rows using 'remove this row'
  4. Set the column layout for each row in terms of percentage of the window width e.g. with 3 columns you can choose 15%, 70%, 15% (2 narrow columns on each side of a wide central column), or 33%, 33%, 33% (3 equal columns) etc.
  5. Click 'Create new layout' to save your new layout to the available items in the editor, and apply it to your page by clicking save at the bottom of the page.

Add and remove buttons

You can use the 'Add column (to the left)' (1), and 'Add column (to the right)' (2), and 'Remove' column (3) buttons for quick changes to the layout whilst on a page.

When you reduce the number of columns, your blocks simply move to the first column. You can then move them around to their correct position by dragging and dropping onto the available locations.

Add and remove columns on the page

You cannot add new rows to the layout using the 'on page' process.
