Make your course visible to students
When new course spaces are created in Moodle they are automatically hidden from students. This is indicated by a message in a yellow banner at the top of the webpage. Users with editing rights for this Moodle space are still able to view, access and build content on the Moodle space.
To make your Moodle space visible to students:
- Click ‘Edit settings’ situated within the yellow banner at the top of your Moodle space.
- You will be taken to ‘Edit course settings’ page. Click on the drop-down for ‘Course visibility’ and select ‘Show’.
- Click ‘Save and display’ at the bottom of the page.
Your course will now be visible to students and other participants on your Moodle space.
To hide your Moodle space from students, follow all the steps within this guide but simply select ‘Hide’ under ‘Course visibility’ at step 2.
The information on this page relates to Moodle v3.6 and was last updated January 2020.
