Use Teams with OneNote notebooks

OneNote is a notebook application and a part of the Office 365 system. Microsoft Teams has a OneNote integration which allows you to add shared notebooks as tabs to a channel, and take notes together with other members. The versions for tablets and touch screen devices can be especially useful, allowing drawing with a stylus.

Add OneNote to your Team

If during the creation of the team, the team types Class, Staff or Professional Learning Community (PLC) are selected, a tab for a notebook is set up by default. The type of notebook will depend on the team type selected. You can add several new or existing OneNote notebook to your team, no matter the team type.

Class Notebook

The Class Notebook, i.e. the default notebook set up for teams of the Class type, allows the teacher to send template pages to student notebooks, and look at notebook pages to add feedback. This could be used to replicate the Open Notebook Practice used in design studios or used for reports. Class Notebook tools (desktop and tablet app only) can be used to distribute content and assessments to student notebooks. Channels in teams have corresponding notebook sections in the Collaboration Space. Find more information about the use of OneNote Class Notebooks.
