As a special measure during Covid-19, students without a working computer can request a loan laptop during the current assessment period.
We offer a Laptop Loan service for students in the Library building. If the Computer Work Areas are too busy, or you need to work from a specific study location in the Library and don't have your own laptop, it's the perfect solution.
To borrow a laptop, go to the ITS Drop-in Centre on the first floor of the Library between 9am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. When you're done, return the laptop to the Drop-in Centre if it's before 5:30pm. If it's after that, return it to Library reception.
The loan laptop is a 13.3" ThinkPad L380 Yoga. It is ultraportable and can be used in different modes - laptop, tablet, stand. It has wireless internet, and will be fully charged, providing up to 10 hours battery life. Printing is available via Mobile Print.
All these laptops have the following Software available: Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 2016, Adobe Reader, Kaspersky, Edge (IE), Google Chrome.
There's no charge for this service.
When we loan you a laptop, you accept these conditions:
- You're not allowed to take the laptop out of the Library building.
- You'll need to show a valid University card before we can give you a laptop.
- You're responsible for the laptop while it's in your possession - if it's damaged, you'll have to pay for it.
