Privately owned systems support

What we offer

If you're a member of the University, we can offer IT support for your privately owned machine. If you live on campus, this service is free. Otherwise, it's available at the super-competitive rate of £30 per year.

We help with:

  • Getting your computer connected to the network and the Internet
  • Recovering your computer following a virus attack
  • Reinstalling your operating system from system disks (if you have them)
  • Installing antivirus software
  • Installing licensed software
  • Advice on good PC practice
  • Installing printers and other peripheral devices
  • Configuring operating system settings
  • Individual assistance, in conjunction with the Senior Tutor's Office, for students with special needs

The passport does not include the cost of any hardware parts required to resolve the fault.
