Course Overview Dates, Venue and Booking

This half day workshop has been designed to support the development of those with Line Management responsibility in managing under performance and poor performance issues in line with the University's policies and procedures

Who is it for?

The course is targeted at those with a responsibility for managing the performance of others in the workplace within Campus and Commercial Services Group and Estates (CCSG & E)


By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:

  • Explain the University’s approach to managing performance and how it can be achieved
  • Describe what constitutes poor performance in the workplace and explain the reasons why this may occur
  • Describe (and have practiced) an ‘informal’ approach to managing poor performance in the workplace using the PEG and PIP model
  • Explain the University’s formal procedure to managing performance
  • Explain the importance of maintaining records in instances where poor performance has been discussed

Duration and method:

A highly interactive and participative ½ day workshop including group discussion, exercises and skills practice
