Key Elements of the Programme

The key elements of the programme are:

  1. Nomination Process 
  2. Pre course work
  3. The Workshops 

(1) Nomination Process

Please read the programme aims and objectives and complete the nomination form to apply for a place stating how and why the programme meets your individual needs. You will also need a supporting statement from your line manager or Head of Department.

There are limited places on the programme and priority will be given to those who are in a line management role and who can best identify how the programme will meet their needs.

The cost of the programme will be met from central funds.

Please note that applicants must have passed their probation before being considered for a place.

(2) Pre course work

If you are successful in gaining a place on the programme you will receive confirmation via email. Attached to the confirmation will be a learning styles questionnaire and a delegation activity for you to complete prior to attending. Please bring these with you on the first day of the programme.

(3) The Workshops

The programme is two days in duration, made up of 2 x 1 day workshops with approximately 5 weeks between each workshop. Participants must be able to attend both workshops, which run from 9.30 to 5.00 each day.

The programme is designed to be both participative and practical and the content will address managing self and managing teams. Core items include:

  • The Role of the Manager
  • Leadership
  • Delegation
  • Motivation
  • Managing Teams

Specific time will be set aside for you to identify the actions you will take to apply what you have learnt from the programme.
