Journal Publication and Bibliometrics

This session will cover how to find and identify high-impact journals, plus some tips on things you can do to achieve higher citation levels.

Who is it for?

All research staff and students from all faculties.


The session will provide an explanation of some of the different ways that bibliometrics can be measured - and used, including by the REF. Measurements of journal impact and the mysterious H-index will be explored. Potential implications of the Open Access movement and some copyright basics will be covered.

What will I get out of this?

Some useful sources for the future and a few career tips.
