This session will be an introduction to GDPR and what it means to the University

Who is it for?

Any Academic member of staff

Session Objectives:

To give academic colleagues an understanding of the key themes, principles, and requirements of the GDPR and including:

  • The broader definition of personal data and data subject rights
  • Institutional obligation under the GDPR
  • The lawful bases of processing

To give colleagues and understanding of the key elements of the University's Information Security framework and how this relates to the role of an academic member of staff.

To advise colleagues on activities that they can undertake now, in order to prepare for GDPR
