Window on Warwick: How is Warwick Preparing for the 2018 Home Office Audit and what can we do to help?

This session will inform staff what the University is doing to prepare for the Home Office audit, which we have been informed will take place by December 2018.

It will help staff to understand what they can do to help ensure the University is audit ready.

Who is it for?

All staff, particularly those who work with Tier 4 students and staff who manage individuals who are sponsored under Tiers 2 and 5.

Session Objectives:

This session will inform staff what the University is doing to prepare for the Home Office audit, which we have been informed will take place by December 2018.

The session will cover Tiers 1 2, 4 and 5 and the work which is ongoing to help prepare for the audit of each of these Tiers. The audit will cover all Tiers during the same visit and it is important that staff know the importance of their role in helping to ensure we comply with the requirements of sponsorship for individuals under Tier 2 and 5 and students under Tier 4.

During the session staff will be provided with information about how they can help to ensure we are ‘audit ready’. This will cover areas such as record keeping, attendance monitoring and reporting of changes for all the Tiers as well as enrolment for Tier 4

There will also be a reminder concerning conducting right to work checks which may also form part of the Home Office audit.

By the end of the session it is hoped that staff should feel positive that Warwick is doing everything it can to ensure it performs well in the audit and should feel equipped to help ensure they play their part in safeguarding the University’s licences.
