Feedback from the network meeting on 22 March 2012:
I attended the WMG research staff forum to talk about funding opportunities for Research staff (link to copy of documents). The research forum enjoyed bacon butties to start but for me what was great to see was the community that has developed & the range of activities that are taking place. A journal club has been started (its first meeting took place in March and the next planned meeting is 13 April) with the group meeting again later to conduct an experiment. The forum has arrange for research staff to have videos’ done as well as some pre-training. CV support has been offered by WMG HR dept & LDC offering to help with arranging careers support, helping researchers do blogs & looking at the idea of a maths/ stats clinic.
