West Midlands Regional E-Learning Project

The West Midlands Regional E-Learning project is concerned with developing shared digital repositories. The project is part of a JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) strand on 'Collaborative teaching and sharing of resources across institutions', and is worth about £120 in total across the Midlands region. Led by University College Worcester, the aims of the partnership are dependent on an initial needs analysis and may involve either creation of a repository of materials or a middleware system that can search existing repositories.

This 15 month project will commence in January 2005 and focus in the main on three areas felt to be of immediate value to the region: health care; support for teachng assistants; and enterprise education. Consultancy work to the project will be provided by LDC's Mark Childs. For further information please contact: m.childs@warwick.ac.uk
