This paper discusses teachers expectations about the learning processes in their professional development. It considers the possible gap between their expectations and the capabilities/characteristics of instruction over the web. It introduces approaches for teachers transition from a traditional model of pedagogoy with in which they take a passive role to a model, enabled by the web, in which they take a full role in directing and achieving their own learning.
