This will depend very much on the nature and purpose of the observation. Ways in which needs may be met include:
- using teaching and learning resources - the University has a large stock of publications concerning teaching and learning and other academic roles, which colleagues may be able to use to address issues
- asking for specialist advice - there are a number of colleagues in the University who are available to give advice on specific issues
- attending appropriate external courses - where internal courses do not cover particular areas, there may be external ones which do and there is funding available to attend these.
By one or more of these means, colleagues can address issues identified, and the effectiveness of this can be checked upon further observation.
