You’re fascinating: Integrating research into teaching
Postgraduates lives centre on research. So, why can it seem so difficult to work aspects of your research into teaching? Why might you even want to? In this session, we will explore opportunities to integrate your own research into your teaching. Doing so can offer excellent opportunities to expand classroom practice, demonstrate subject relevancy to students, and build engaging learning environments. Starting with examples drawn from historical and literary studies, participants will have the chance to think through their own teaching and research and where the two overlap. It will also help participants consider how they might work their own research into their teaching. This workshop will be applicable for postgraduates teaching in seminar/small group environments but will also be of interest to people working in the sciences and social sciences.
