Essential maintenance work is needed to ensure that the roller racking in one of the MRC's archive strongrooms continues to function. This work will take place during most of July (the exact dates will be dependent on the progress of the engineers, and whether any unexpected problems are encountered).
Whilst the engineers are working on sections of the racking, the mechanism that allows the shelving to be moved will not be operational - staff will therefore be unable to access the archive collections stored in the affected area and will not be able to produce items from these collections for researchers.
Lists of the collections which are being affected by the three different phases of the work are available below.
Phase 1 - started on 2 July, completed.
Phase 2 - started on 9 July, completed.
Phase 3 - started on 19 July, completed.
We will continue to update the website with information about the progress of the work and collections affected. If you have any queries about whether collections that you would like to access are likely to be affected by this, please contact us.
