Repair of strongroom racking: affected collections - 1st phase

Strongroom

COLLECTIONS UNAVAILABLE - START OF JULY 2018 (RACKS 23-32)

The archive collections listed below are included in the first section of the strongroom racking to be repaired. The work on this section is estimated to take place during the first third of July (though the exact dates will depend on whether the engineers encounter any additional problems whilst working on the section). Modern Records Centre staff will therefore have no access to these collections during this period, whilst the roller racking mechanism of the shelving is dismantled, and will be unable to produce documents from these collections for researchers.

The most frequently used collection in this section is the first part of the Trades Union Congress archive (MSS.292A). This section also includes archives of a number of the printing trade unions, building unions, and the Iron and Steel Trades Confederation.
