The PG Hub has a range of services and assistive technology for customers with disabilities or learning differences.
Physical access to the PG Hub
The PG Hub is based on the ground floor of Senate House, which is accessible by a ramp. Once inside the building, you will need to scan your university card to open the doors to the PG Hub. Toilets with wheelchair access are located outside of the PG Hub in Senate House. If you require any assistance finding your way around, please ask a member of staff.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the building with their owners.
Accessible Study Room: Hub 3
Hub 3 is an accessible study room, which contains assistive technology and software. This room may be booked by staff and students registered with the University Disability Services, for a maximum of 3 hours per day and up to four weeks in advance. Book Hub 3.
Accessible desk in Main Atrium
There is a height-adjustable desk with a PC in the Main Atrium. This PC has a range of assistive technology installed on it. For more information and if you require use of this desk, please talk to a member of Facilities staff.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking works with the most commonly used desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, AOL and more! Just about anything you do now by typing can be done faster using your voice. Create and edit documents or emails. Open and close applications. Control your mouse and entire desktop.
This software uses the Plantronic headphones, which are available to loan from the PG Hub.
Read&Write GOLD is an easy to use toolbar that "floats" on top of any open application. Assistance is available for User as they are working. The software works discreetly with all mainstream Windows applications. This offers customers with literacy difficulties, dyslexia or English as a second language the opportunity to work in an inclusive manner alongside their peers and colleagues.
The PC in PG Hub 3 and some marked PCs in the Main Atrium have Read&Write Gold installed. Please ask at the Facilities desk if you are unsure which PC to use. We also have guides to Read&Write Gold available, which are also available from the Facilities desk.
It is not restricted to these areas though - you can use it on any University owned and networked computers (subject to terms and conditions). Mindjet is a mind mapping software. The University holds site licence for this software, which allows staff and students to download on University and personally owned computers (subject to terms and conditions).
This can be easily downloaded via the software centre for computers on campus or via the IT services webpage.
MindManager has been installed on all computers within the Accessible Study Rooms and the Main Library's Assistive Technology Area.
