Open Access and the next REF
For the next Research Evaluation Framework (REF) process there is a policy on open access.
This policy states that to be eligible for the inclusion for the REF journal articles and conference papers accepted on or after 1 April 2016 must be deposited into a repository. University of Warwick’s policy is that all outputs should be deposited in our institutional repository, WRAP.
Open Access (OA) is the practice of providing unrestricted access to scholarly outputs via the Internet.

RCUK Block Grant agreed until 2020 - After a period of uncertainty RCUK has confirmed that their block grant to support open access to papers will be renewed and will continue until the end of March 2020. During this period there will be a review of the current RCUK policy on open access to assess the impact of the five years of funding already allocated to institutions and the current state of open access internationally.
If your research papers acknowledge funding from RCUK and you wish to apply to the grant for funding to cover open access publication, please use the request form linked above.
