Deposit research data

Practical steps for depositing data to WRAP. See also what should be deposited where.

As with publications, there are currently three routes to deposit datasets into WRAP:-

1. Email deposit

Email to researchdata at warwick dot ac dot uk the basic details of the publication (if any) to which the data relates:

  • author names
  • related article title
  • related abstract
  • DOI/web link of related article

Attach the dataset file(s) to the email. If you require a WRAP Persistent URL (web link) for your research data statement to be created for article proofs, all the above data should be supplied, but the dataset must be sent no later than the publication date of the article in order for the record to ‘go live’.

Individual data files up to 2 GB can be accepted into the repository (under default settings), but if the total file size submission exceeds 50 MB, these should be transferred via files.warwick rather than by email.

2. Self deposit

For experienced repository users, you can enter the full-details into WRAP. Select 'New deposit' (you will need to be logged in to your Warwick Username and Password). Ensure that you select the Item Type of ‘Dataset’.

3. Simple deposit

  • Complete the simple deposit form using your Warwick Username and Password. Prefix the title with “Dataset to support article:….”
  • Route 1 (by email) is the route most frequently used by authors at present. See further general information on dataset submission. Please email researchdata at warwick dot ac dot uk if you have further queries
