Mozart Requiem Reviews

Chamber Choir performed with the English Chamber Orchestra as part of Warwick Arts Centre's Concert Series in March, on . Conducted by Paul McGrath, the choir performed the work entirely off copy, to great effect. The soloists Tinuke Olafimihan (soprano), Gaynor Keeble (Mezzo-Soprano), Nicholas Sharratt (tenor) and Nicholas Lester (baritone) fully complimented the choir and the performance was well received by an appreciative audience.

Here's what the tenor soloist had to say:

"what a bloody great night! You [Paul McGrath] were on sparkly form, and the band and choir was outstanding. Please pass on my hearty congratulations to the choir- it must have been a bugger to memorise, but the quality of sound, style and finesse they produced was out of the top drawer......I'm still buzzing!"

And from the Director of the Arts Centre, Alan Rivett:

"Really pleased that Chamber Choir more than seized the opportunity of appearing in the Arts Centre’s Concert Series with a professional orchestra last night to sing the Mozart Requiem. If I’m honest I think they outshone the ECO! Quite a feat. Tremendous response too.

Please could you make sure that my thanks are passed on to one and all of them for a genuinely moving Mozart Requiem last night."

Well done to everyone involved!
