Members' Area

UWCC

UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK CHAMBER CHOIR

UWCC is being revamped and relaunched this year.
We hope to form a smaller membership, give more performances, raise the profile, raise the standard and become a hot and funky choir.

Joining UWCC: Existing Members

Re-auditions for existing members of UWCC will be held in the first week of Term 1.
There are 3 phases to the re-audition.

Phase 1:
Re-auditions will take place on Tues 2nd, Weds 3rd and Thurs 4th October 2012 in the Ensemble Room of the Music Centre. We will audition existing Chamber Choir members two singers at a time. Sign-up sheets are in Music Centre foyer.

For the re-audition, you will need to memorise your voice part in G. Gyorgy’s Daemon Irrepit Callidus. The sheet music for Daemon Irrepit Callidus is here:

You will then receive a phone call by midday on Thurs 4th Oct confirming whether you have been selected for the next phase of the audition process, Phase 2.

Phase 2:
Those successfully proceeding to Phase 2 are invited to attend and take a key role in THE BIG SING sessions held at these times:
Thurs 4th Oct 7.00-9.30pm ACCR
Sun 7th Oct 3.00-5.00pm BUTTERWORTH HALL

In these sessions, we shall be assessing your abilities in an ensemble context and looking for leadership skills, as we shall be seeking to appoint SATB section leaders and soloists for UWCC term 1.

This will be followed by the third and final part of the re-audition process, Phase 3.

Phase 3:
Sun 7th Oct 5.00-6.00pm Butterworth Hall.

Everyone who has participated in Phase 2 will automatically continue to Phase 3. In this final phase of the re-audition process, a group workshop audition, we will be looking to choose 32-40 singers from the long-list of singers to form the Chamber Choir for this year.

You will receive a phone call during the day on Monday 8th October to confirm whether you have been selected.
