Professional development and transferable skills training is well established as a fundamental part of high-quality doctoral education (as recommended by Research Councils UK in their 2013 Statement of Expectation and set out in detail in Vitae's Researcher Development Statement).
Warwick offers a wide range of training, resources and guidance to support our postgraduate research students in conducting their research and preparing for their future career. Central services are designed to complement the support students receive from supervisors and departmental/ faculty/ DTC training programmes. The main dedicated central provider is the Research Student Skills Programme from Student Careers and Skills, but there is also a wealth of other opportunities via other providers including IT Services, LDC and the Library.
