PGA TEL Course Dates

The Postgraduate Award in Technology Enhanced Learning Theory and Application will take place both online and in person. They will include opportunities to engage with asynchronous materials and synchronous sessions where we come together to discuss key areas and share ideas and developments around the projects. Below is a schedule of events - please note that there is a Moodle that will run alongside these sessions and will include topics focused on student experience, digital pedagogy, design for learning and the role of the tutor. There will also be opportunities for one-to-one catch ups with a mentor and course lead over the duration of the course.

Introduction Meeting (Online)

23rd November, 1-2pm

Welcome to the PGA TEL. Meet the team and colleagues on the PGA TEL. Find out what to expect over the coming months, introduction to the PSF.

Ideas Jam/Defining your project (In-person)

29th November, 1-3pm

This session is an opportunity to start defining the challenges, what will your project look like? Who are your students? Who are the stakeholders? This session will also introduce you to support available at Warwick and help to identify other potential speakers for future sessions.

Action Learning Set #1 (Online)

12th January, 10-11 or
17th January, 2-3pm or
18th January, 12-1pm

Action learning sets are an opportunity to come together with a small group and share where you are at with you project, try out new ideas, get feedback and ask any questions. Groups are limited to 5 people. Details and how to book will be shared in due course.

Introduction to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) (Online)

24th January, 2-3pm

This session will be led by Dr Kerry Dobbins (ADC), will be leading this session - exploring what SoTL is and how we can approach this area of scholarship. Further details to follow shortly.

Thinking about evaluation (In person)

7th February, 1-2pm

This session will be led by Dr John Kirkman (ADC) We will explore how we could evaluate the projects. What approaches could you take? What do you need to consider? How does it apply to your project? This will help us to start to develop an evaluation strategy.

Ideas Jam (In person)

15th February, 1-3pm

Another opportunity to come together and share our projects, thinking about the pedagogy and design of the projects, have things changed? We will consider further how we plan to evaluate our projects and identify any challenges or ideas for future development.

Action Learning Sets #2 (Online)

9th March, 3-4pm or
14th March, 11-12 or
16th March, 1-2pm

Another opportunity for you to come together in small groups and discuss project progress, ask any questions and hear more about other projects. You only need to attend x1 of these dates. Further information about these action learnng sets will be available nearer the time.

Ideas Jam (In person)

4th May, 1-3pm

This final ideas jam, is an opportunity to come together and share developments within our projects, identify any challeges and thoughts around next steps.

Writing Retreat (Online)

Dates tbc

Opportunity to have protected time and work on the project/submissions. You can simply protect the time or come along and join us. We follow the Pomodoro technique for writing retreats.

Assessment deadlines

Presentation days (in person) - 12th, 13th, 14th September

Reflective Account hand in 2nd October
