Are you an enthusiastic and responsible individual who would like to be part of the Residential Life Team who live alongside students within Halls of Residence and are a key part of the University's welfare and support network?
What is the role of the Residential Life Team?
The Residential Life Team (RLT) is responsible for maintaining both discipline and pastoral support within the Halls of Residence. As a volunteer member of the RLT, you will assist in ensuring the provision and delivery of an effective system of student support for students who live on the University campus. You will contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for living and learning; in particular, shaping a high quality residential experience for student learners at the University.
Who is eligible to apply?
Being a Volunteer for Warwick’s Residential Life Team will be in addition to your current commitment to the University of Warwick. You must be either a full time or part time postgraduate student, on the MBChB programme or a member of University staff with a minimum paid commitment of 15 hours per week.
If you are currently working as a temporary worker with Unitemps, are a Sabbatical Officer or you are in paid employment with Warwick Students' Union and you have no other commitments as a student, then you are not eligible to apply for a role within the RLT.
If you have a paid role working in one of the local hospitals and are studying part-time at the University then please contact the Residential Life Team Office for more advice and guidance. It may be that your commitment to the University may not be sufficient to qualify to join the Residential Life Team. We may need to call on you in emergencies to support students and this requirement may conflict with your day-to-day working role at the hospital.
Due to the nature of the time commitments required for this voluntary role is it not suitable for students with a Tier 4 (General) student visa. We will not be accepting applications from students with a Tier 4 (General) student visa at this time.
We welcome applications from staff and students with disabilities, however, please be advised in some cases that due to the nature and age of the residential accommodation the University may not be able to make the adaptations necessary in order to make the buildings fully accessible. If you wish to apply and have a disability then we recommend that you discuss what options may be available with the Senior Wardens. Please be advised that we may not be able to accommodate you within the Residential Life Team.
