We’re going to make some changes to the atrium coffee bar and restaurant as part of the University House refurbishment programme.
The work will start 2pm Friday 8 December with the majority of it completed by Wednesday 3 January. At the end of January we will also be replacing the restaurant furniture.
What’s going to happen?
So that we can complete the work with minimum disruption the atrium coffee bar machine will be out of action from 2pm Friday 8 December. This means we are unable to make any speciality coffees. Tea, filter coffee and hot snacks will still be available.
We will then need to close both the restaurant and the atrium coffee bar from Monday 11 December-Tuesday 2 January. The seating areas will still be available for everyone to use.
Will I be able to buy food and drink?
Yes! We will be setting up a temporary coffee bar in the restaurant serving tea, Union Coffee filter coffee and a small selection of sandwiches and cakes.
Although the restaurant will be closed, we are hoping to offer a small hot food menu every day. Alternatively, WBS Café and Café Library both offer a hot food menu and are a ten minute walk away.
We appreciate this disruption will be an inconvenience but hope you will bear with us. Once completed everyone will benefit from a single restaurant/coffee bar, better quality seating, an improved queuing system and more social learning space.
