Warwick Print

Warwick Print

As you may be aware, a decision has been made to close Warwick Print from the end of July 2024.

Important!

Last date for orders was Friday 28th June 2024

Friday 28th June was your deadline if you needed to place an order with Warwick Print.

How does this affect departmental printing?

Anything that previously went through Warwick Print's in-house services will now need to be requested direct to the suppliers through the links below from July 1st 2024.

For the most common printing needs you will be able to use the upgraded Kyocera multi-function printer/copiers located throughout campus.
Larger or more specialised print projects such as promotional items or bound publications will be handled through the University's approved print suppliers. Many offer advanced capabilities beyond Warwick Print's services as well as environmentally sustainable printing options.
IDG has established links with reputable external print suppliers to handle our printing requirements, so here’s what to do and where to find them:
Academic departments should continue to liaise with their marketing Account Manager for student recruitment related design and print requirements.

For Poster printing both departmental and students please contact: Graphic Arts (Coventry) Ltd - Account manager: Ian Jenkin - tel 024 7667 3415 - email: Ian.jenkin@graphicartsgroup.co.uk

How does this affect student printing?

Warwick Prints online services are no longer available, the university is working hard to transition these services to a new supplier for later in the year.

The student printer credit system will remain unchanged, for most of your printing needs you will be able to use the upgraded Kyocera multi-function printer/copiers located throughout campus.

For larger or more specialised print projects, students are encouraged to use the University's approved print suppliers.

What about dissertation printing and binding?

From Monday 17 June 2024 PGRs will be required to submit the final electronic version of their thesis in PDF/A format for the purpose of long-term digital preservation, meaning that no hard bound copy will be required for inclusion on a pass list for the award of the degree.

(Information on the submission of final printed thesis can be found in the Guide to examinations for higher degrees by research (warwick.ac.uk)

section 17.2). Guidance on converting to PDF/A format is available on the Doctoral College website.

Binding can be arranged through our approved supplier, Helix Binders Ltd, please use UWAR010 when ordering online to claim 10% discount should a hard copy be desired for personal use.

Your understanding and flexibility are appreciated as we transition to a new method for all print and related requirements.

For the rest of this academic year, the Warwick Print website will provide full details on which vendor to use for your specific printing need, along with instructions on how to place orders.

An alternative approach for print and promotional requirements, following closure, is currently being developed, with a focus on ensuring a clear and simple model allowing departments to order efficiently and effectively. As a minimum, this activity includes development of a platform to support print requests and the introduction of new framework agreements and management of supplier relationships.

If you have any queries, on orders already placed with Warwick Print please use enquiries@warwickprint.co.uk.

If you require assistance and further information on how to place orders with the approved suppliers for your print and promotional requirements, contact our Print Procurement Manager, Craig Colledge directly craig.j.colledge@warwick.ac.uk or our Account Coordinator Joey.Davey@warwick.ac.uk who will be able to provide guidance and advice.
