The ‘Teaching and Learning Spaces Development Group’, has oversight of the refurbishment of the centrally timetabled teaching rooms and the provision of study spaces across the University. It includes staff members from Space Management and Timetabling, AV Services, Warwick Conferences, Furniture and Equipment (Estates) and Special Projects (Estates). The Group aims to meet once a term throughout the year. The Group addresses comments from staff and student in relation to the quality of centrally timetabled teaching rooms.
Responsibilities of the Group
The Group aims to improve the student experience through raising the quality of teaching and learning spaces, including managing the programme of refurbishment of centrally timetabled teaching rooms.
The Group has specific responsibility for:
(a) Ongoing works, developments and issues:
(i) Identifying rooms in need of refurbishment or requiring replacement of equipment and audio visual systems
(ii) Responding to defects and issues identified in centrally timetabled rooms.
(iii) Managing ongoing refurbishment works in centrally timetabled rooms.
(b) Development cycle and planned works:
(i) Identifying areas of campus for strategic interventions and refurbishment of groups of teaching rooms.
(ii) Identifying and refurbishing areas of campus suitable for use as informal study space.
(iii) Identifying and liaising with stakeholders, including both suppliers and customers, to improve teaching and learning spaces and manage periods of refurbishment.
(iv) Monitoring key refurbishment activity milestones to ensure project deadlines are met.
(v) Develop and maintain a five year plan for the refurbishment of teaching and learning spaces.
(c) Finance and management of the assigned refurbishment budget.
