This course looks at the building blocks of collaborative research, exploring the drivers for collaboration, the benefits, your own strengths and potential gaps in your research that collaboration would enhance. The need to manage collaboration effectively will also be covered.

This workshop will cover:
  • The need for collaboration
  • Types of collaboration
  • Benefits, pitfalls and considerations in collaborating
  • The drivers behind collaboration
  • Importance of managing collaborations
By the end of the workshop you will have:
  • Thought about the strengths you can bring to a collaboration
  • Identified how you want to collaborate
  • Worked in groups to recognise why the institution, funders and yourself would want to collaborate and the potential challenges
  • Worked on examples highlighting the need for management of collaborations
