Surveyors

Each year we rely on a hard-working, dedicated team of surveyors to assist with the Room Utilisation Survey. Without their support it would simply be impossible to complete such a large-scale survey. If you are interested in working as a surveyor please read the information below and consider applying!

Job spec

Our surveyors are assigned a circuit of teaching rooms on the University campus for which they are responsible for surveying and data collection throughout the week. You will be required to briefly enter the rooms on your circuit and record the number of people in each room. Towards the end of the Survey week we will send you a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet which you can input your data into.

Requirements

The quality of the data we collect is of upmost importance to us. We require surveyors who have:

  • A good knowledge of University Campus
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • The ability to problem solve and good customer service skills are desirable
  • Experience of being responsible for the collection and collation of data is also desirable

Pay

The rate of pay is £8.45 per hour for the shifts worked during the Survey week. We will also pay extra for inputting the data into an Excel spreadsheet, this will be paid on a pro rata basis with 1 hour paid for a full week of surveying.

Availability

The survey runs from Monday 30 October to Friday 3 November 2017. We offer a choice of three shift patterns: a morning shift (9am - 12pm), an afternoon shift (12pm-3pm) and an evening shift (3pm-7pm). You should be available to work each day of the Survey week. Those who cannot commit themselves to the same slot every day will be considered but preference will be given to those who can.

If successful, you must attend a briefing meeting either on Tuesday 24 October at 11am or Wednesday 25 October at 4pm.

Successful applicants must be registered with Unitemps and have proved their eligibility to work.
