Successful and innovative partnership activity will play a central role in increasing our global reach and reputation and positioning our activities internationally. Warwick continues to develop links with international partners who complement our activities and ideals, and provide innovation, sustainability and strategic value. Here we look at the work of the team in this area.
Collaborating with other universities and sharing knowledge and resources with universities and academic communities throughout the world is an important part of Warwick’s international mission. Warwick has invested significantly in the development of international research collaborations.
Warwick also has long-standing exchange programmes with prestigious universities in more than 40 countries around the world, located in Europe, North America, South America, Australasia and East Asia.
Two significant international alliances developed at Warwick include the partnership with Monash University (Australia) and the Center for Urban Science and Progress (USA).
Monash University and the University of Warwick have worked closely together since 2009 and hold a common view that effective research and education outcomes in the modern world require global collaboration, opportunities and experiences.
The Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) is an applied science research institute which is a partnership of top institutions from around the globe, led by NYU and NYU-Poly with a consortium of world-class universities including Warwick.
The announcement was made on 23rd April 2012 by New York’s Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and New York University’s President John Sexton. The unique consortium of world-class academic institutions, and private technology companies, will lead to the creation of the applied science research institute to address the needs of cities worldwide.
