University of Warwick staff? You can use a Warwick Learning Access (WLA) voucher and do a course for free.

Course price includes access to showers and changing facilities.

Things to know

Where is the gym?
At the main Sports Centre on the University of Warwick campus, view on map.

What should I wear?
Wear suitable gym clothing. For footwear, wear trainers, converse style pumps or your own lifting shoes.

Should I bring anything?
Make sure you bring a drink and towel along.


Intro to lifting

Introductory programme to lifting weights for beginners, designed to give basic entry level techniques within strength and conditioning.

What you'll learn

  • Develop through to key lifting techniques such as bench press, squat and the deadlift
  • Stabilise your core and maximise muscles through the correct body positioning
  • Highlight the benefits of the moves of lifting for strength and fitness
  • Receive a handbook of guidelines to help with knowledge

Intermediate

Suitable for if you have attended the 'Intro to Lifting' course and are looking to advance further.
