Is equipment provided?

All sessions of your course include:

  • Instructor led learning from experienced coaches
  • Flotation devices and support aids available for all sessions
  • Access to showers and other facilities

What should I bring?

To get the most from your course:

  • Suitable swimwear such as a swimsuit
  • We recommend you bring a swim hat if you have long hair
  • You can bring goggles, but they are not required
  • Towels and drinks can be taken poolside


Suitable for:

  • Females that are complete beginners to swimming
  • Those who would like to improve their water confidence and start to learn the mechanics of swimming in a friendly environment

What you'll learn:

  • The basics of frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke
  • You'll focus on a different element of the 'BLABT' framework each week to progress your swimming ability - body position, legs, arms, breathing, timing

Friday 11 May – Friday 6 July 2018 (no class on Friday 1 June)

Suitable for:

  • Females looking to improve their swimming technique and fitness
  • Those who are confident in the water and able to comfortably swim frontcrawl and backstroke
  • Suitable swimmers should be able to swim lengths in a 25m pool - but there is no need to worry about how quickly these are completed or how good the technique is
  • Confidence and comfort are the two key prerequisites

What you'll learn:

  • Improved fitness level through fun and engaging swim workouts
  • Improved technique in your frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke
  • Start learning the butterfly stroke
