FAQs: Application Process and Entry Requirements

To apply as an exchange student, your university will need to have an exchange partnership with us (University of Warwick). Your university will nominate you to us and we will then email you the application instructions. Please see the following Application Process for more detailsLink opens in a new window.

This will depend upon the duration you have agreed with your home university and the academic department you wish to study in. You can view the term dates on the following webpageLink opens in a new window.

Depending on the academic department, it is possible to study with us for:

  • Autumn Term only
  • Autumn and Spring Terms
  • Spring Term only
  • Spring and Summer Terms
  • Full academic year

Many of our modules are run through the full academic year so studying for the full year provides the most module options. If you are not staying for the full year please remember that you need to ensure that there are sufficient modules for you to complete. The following webpage provides information on the study durations available in different academic departmentsLink opens in a new window.

During the application process, you will apply for an academic department and this will be your main/base department that you will be a student in at Warwick. Therefore, the majority of modules that you study will be from your base department. On your application you will be asked to indicate which modules you are interested in, however, module selection and confirmation happens just before you start your studies and the academic department will get in touch with you about this. Therefore, the modules stated on your application cannot be guaranteed as the module selection happens much later on.

Further information on modules can be found on the following Module Information & Credits webpageLink opens in a new window.

Your application will be processed by the Student Mobility Team and if your application is successful, you will receive an offer letter by email.

There is no application fee and as an exchange student, you do not pay any tuition fee to the University of Warwick (you will still most likely have to pay a tuition fee to your home university so please do check with them).
