Making your Teaching Inclusive

JISC are the UK higher, further education and skills sectors’ not-for-profit organisation for digital services and solutions. JISC's website has useful information and guides about using technology to assist inclusion.

The University of Sussex has produced a summary of useful technologies following a presentation by JISC on Making Learning Accessible Through Technology.

There also books available in the Library at Warwick on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

The Institute of Physics have produced two guides - one about accommodating students with dyslexia and the other relating to inclusion in general for STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

We would always encourage staff to adopt an anticipatory and proactive approach, recognise and meet learning needs of individual students and thus create a learning environment which is inclusive by design. The University of Sheffield has produced some simple guidance in their publication, Inclusive Learning and Teaching Handbook.
