For those reaching us by public transport, the closest train station is Coventry.

It is then a 15 min taxi ride to the University of Warwick. The Warwick Arts Centre is located on campus.

The campus is also accessible by bus 12 leaving from the station.

CATCH is set in a possible near future where antibiotics can no longer treat infections and the world is gripped by the threat of a global pandemic.

Synopsis: In a near future where all antibiotics have failed, a father, Tom, and his young daughter, Amy, are quarantined in their house during a lethal pandemic. When Amy gets sick, Tom must make an impossible decision: give her up to the authorities or risk infection himself.

Soapbox Volunteers

EPS for AMR Soapbox

"Soapbox" outreach is a low-tech but effective method of engaging members of the public on scientific ideas.
If you would like to participate, please nominate approachable and knowledgeable researchers with an interesting topic to debate.

Examples of soapbox topics could include:
"Why is it so hard to make new antibiotics? (And what are scientists doing about this?)"
"What is causing the spread of resistance? (And how can we model this?)"

“What happens when we run out of antibiotics?”

“Are we headed for another medical dark age?"

Some discussion point ideas:
- What antibiotics are
- If they’ve ever taken any (do they make sure to finish their course?)
- Medical treatments we take for granted and the ones that are already at risk
- How antibiotics work
- Explain resistance, why it exists, where it is coming from

- What scientists are trying to do (including your own research)
- What different types of scientists can contribute

Accommodation Queries

I have for the moment reserved 50 bedrooms at the Ramada hotel (http://www.ramadacoventry.co.uk) near Coventry train station for the night of 14 June.

We are happy to cover these accommodation costs and I would ask that you let me know the names of attendees requiring overnight accommodation on this date.
